Tri-county Sunday discuss how and why Legal Eagles II has begun and will run until the Graduation Ceremony on Law Daw, May 1st. Tri-County Sunday Has been one of the biggest supporters of the Legal Eagle Program.

Jim Hawkins, Clearfield County District Justice in Houtzdale, recently described his duties at the Curwensville Elementary Legal Eagle Program. He told the students to consider the consequences of their behavior before they act: "If you do something bad, you will be punished."

Sen. John Wozniak, before his district was changed, was a very big supporter of the Legal Eagle Program. Several times, he writes to the students, and encourages them to continue with their effort and wishes them great success!

Legal Eagles visit -- Lisa Redden, Clearfield County Adult Probation and Parole Services, recently described her job during a Curwensville Elementary fifth grade Legal Eagle program. She said the judge decides if a person serves probation of is eligible for home detention. Criminal offenders as young as 10 years old are allowed to be on probation. The judge tries not to takekids out of their home and school, she said. Many juvenile offenders are sent to juvenile facilities.

Jim Pawelczyk, an astronaut who flew on the Space Shuttle Columbia in the 1990's, addressed students at St Francis and Curwensville Elementary. He told the students that they could be anything that they wanted to be and also explained how the space shuttle works. He took four students, in front, Patrick Barnes, and in the back, from left, Katie Philips, Kyle Kline and Rebecca Johnson and explained the responsibilites hey would have as part of a shuttle crew.
